Located at the Los Angeles International Airport, First Flight provides services for children ages six weeks to five years old. Surrounded by four acres of park, the 9,200 square foot center incorporates classrooms, administrative offices, staff facilities, and an extensive outdoor play area.

The community of prefabricated buildings is arranged in a U-shape around the play yard, which is organized by function and age group. Wide expanses of glass face the central play yard, filling the classrooms with natural light. Wing shaped shade canopies echo aviation imagery and create an imaginative outdoor play area.
