Altamira Ranch occupies 20-acres along the Palos Verdes Peninsula and represents the dreams of one California family. The undeveloped site held memories of childhood camping trips, picnics, and romantic sunsets. The clients wanted to maintain the “untouched” feel of the land and connect the architecture and landscape both physically and visually.

Using natural features and convergence lines, a datum line was created to locate site elements . Plant massings run along these lines to frame views and create focal points. Decomposed granite gravel paths lead to different destinations: pool area, fire pits, sand volleyball court, vegetable garden, and camping deck.
