The strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces required that the landscape and interior design merge with each other. The interior design was influenced by the clients’ attraction to Balinese patterns and textures and resulted in an eclectic, colorful palette.

Around the house and pool, the landscape is lush and tropical. Ferns, elephant ears, bananas, and bamboo are used in seemingly random combinations to create colorful, texturally rich surrounds. At night, the trees are illuminated by 250 lanterns, many imported from Bali and Thailand. On the hillsides and below the addition, indigenous plants are used.
