Originally designed by Cliff May in 1956, the Oakmont Residence exemplifies California Ranch Style through its spacious plan, expansive windows and low gable roofline. The project consisted of adding 3,000 square feet to the existing 6,000 square foot home, incorporating a new office, gym, and a studio quality theater.

Respecting May’s original design intent, materials and detailing from the original structure flow into the addition, creating a seamless transition from old to new. To maintain the low-slung roofline, the two-story addition was partially buried, embedding the gym in the hillside and extending the main home into the new office.
