Located in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, the 2,100 square foot Elliot House was designed by Rudolf M. Schindler in 1930. The house was restored to its original condition while simultaneously adding contemporary amenities and performing seismic and structural upgrades.
Based on research of Schindler’s original drawings and photographs, the architectural language was reinterpreted for the owners’ living requirements, executed with the same precision and attention to detail evident in the original building. To accommodate modern amenities, the intricate kitchen cabinetry was modified in keeping with Schindler's understanding of and inventiveness with materials.
