Four separate buildings—main house, study, guest house, and garage—were cut into the terrain and reduced the need for site grading. We clad many of the walls in local Palos Verdes stone, which we cut on-site, to emphasize the project’s connection to the land. Submerging the buildings reduced the amount of site work required while preserving the ocean view for the surrounding neighborhood.
