We designed the front garden for the adults and the rear garden for the children. A “water corridor,” created by the pool and sunken kitchen and implied by the riparian planting of Cape rush, serves as the organizing element. Deergrass and oak trees flank the landscape to reflect the California chaparral. Colorful masses of sages and other California natives accent the back lawn.
