A Mid-Level Landscape Designer (Job Captain) will work collaboratively with our design team to create innovative and visually stunning landscape designs for various projects. They will be responsible for translating client requirements into functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces while considering sustainability, environmental context, and budgetary constraints. This position requires a strong background in landscape design principles, excellent technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

• Involvement in all project types including single-family residential, multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects.
• Collaborate and communicate with clients and representatives, architects, consultants, vendors, and all other parties involved in a project to develop the project design and documentation that meets client goals and the firm design aesthetic.
• Conduct site analysis of all existing conditions, including topography, soil, and vegetation, to inform design decisions.
• Development and preparation of all deliverables and project tasks in all project phases including conceptual design, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and contract administration.
• Produce project deliverables using programs (Revit, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite) and hand graphics.
• Integrate sustainable design practices into landscape designs, such as water conservation, use of native plants, and incorporation of green infrastructure elements.
• Select and specify appropriate plant materials, hardscape materials, and outdoor furnishings based on site conditions, client preferences, and project requirements.
• Collaborate and communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during the construction phase to ensure the design intent is realized and to address any design-related issues that may arise.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and all project documentation and communication.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in landscape design.
• Working collaboratively on a team both under the management of senior staff, overseeing and providing guidance to junior staff, and working independently.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
• 4 – 6 years of professional experience in landscape design, preferably with a focus on residential or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and hand sketching.
• Strong knowledge of landscape design principles, including site analysis, grading, planting design, hardscape design, and experience in construction documentation and contract administration.
• Ability to create accurate and visually compelling renderings and presentation graphics.
• Familiarity with local zoning regulations, building codes, and permitting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present design concepts to project teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and precision.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

The hiring salary range for this position is $75,000 – $100,000.
